Sensemaker Daily
— London, Uk

It’s Brexit day and I’ll be honest. I can’t make sense of it. Sovereignty, control. I know the arguments. Nativism, resentment. I know what the bubble says. Three and a half years ago, in another life, we hashed it all out and I wrote a 2,000-word leader for The Times arguing to remain – and reform. Let’s just say it didn’t move the dial.

I won't summarize the story about an American pilot shot down over Russia, a KGB super-spy arrested in New York City, a hapless American graduate student, and how they came to be released from their respective prison
