Ashwini Bhave (also spelled Ashvini Bhave) is an Indian model and actress known for her work in both Hindi, Kannada and Marathi-language films and television serials. Ashwini Bhave is the Top Actress of Marathi Cinema during 80s and 90s. She made her Marathi cinema debut with Shabas Sunbai (1986). She Received Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Actress twice for her performance in critically acclaimed movies Kadachit and Aahuti. Born and raised in India, she lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.[1]
Career
[edit]Bhave was first noticed on television in a Hindi Sci-Fi serial Antariksh. She later portrayed the lead heroine in Marathi films such as Dhadakebaaz, Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi and Kalat Nakalat opposite top Marathi movie stars like Laxmikant Berde, Ashok Saraf, Sachin and Vikram Gokhale.
She won the Maharashtra State Film Award twice for the best actress for Aahuti and Kadachit.

But the wait has been worth the while for Ashvini Bhave, who has won an award for her latest Marathi film Kadachit, which also happens to be the first film that she has produced.
So what prompted the actress to make a comeback? "I was meaning to come back for the last couple of years.I had started feeling that 'if I do not do it now, I will never be able to do it.' All I needed was focus," she says.
Quiz her about her urge to produce films and she says, "I had been an actress for many years and I aspired to take a step further and do something challenging. Getting into production I thought was one such fascinating thing! The only hitch was finding a good script. I found the script of Kadachit quite exciting and with Chandrakant Kulkarni wielding the baton, I knew I had taken the right decision."
Admitting that facing the camera after 10 years was tough, Ashvini says that in the initial two days she was in a kind of a trance. "But soon enough I slipped into the character and left the rest to my director," she adds.
