‘Vishwo Twenty20 Cricket Ka Sarathi Haru’, a cricket book on the current Nepali national team, has been released here on Thursday.
Written by a Kantipur sports journalist Jagadishwor Pandey, the book incorporates details of 18 cricketers and coach who created history by guiding Nepal to historical achievement – the qualification to ICC Twenty20 World Cup.
The cricketers and Nepal’s Sri Lankan-born Canadian coach Pubudu Dassanayake jointly launched the book amidst a programme. The general book has been priced at Rs 499 and the especial edition at Rs 1,200. The especial edition includes signatures of the cricketers, informed the publishers, We Read.
Coach Pubudu Dassanayake said the Nepali cricket has reached a new level and now needs to move forward from there on. “Getting a book like the ones (Pandey has written) is really encouraging,” added the Nepal coach.
Skipper Paras Khadka said: “We take pride from what we achieved in cricket as we had realised our dreams (by qualifying for a World Cup). I also take this opportunity to thank Pandey and all those who made it possible to launch the cricket book.
