Kim Anderson Biography
The Missouri Tigers turned to an alum who has proved himself on the Division II level to change their basketball fortunes. Kim Anderson had two stints as an assistant coach at Missouri, but proved himself as a head coach with Central Missouri. He led the Mules to seven DII NCAA Tournaments in 12 seasons. In 2013-14, Central Missouri won the national championship and Anderson was named National Coach of the Year. The Mules advanced all the way to the DII Final Four two other times under his watch. Prior to becoming a head coach, Anderson also spent time as an assistant at Baylor in addition to his two runs with the Tigers. He was a great player at Missouri, winning Big Eight Co-Player of the Year honors in 1977. The Portland Trail Blazers selected him in the second round of the 1977 NBA Draft, but he would just play one season in the Rose City. Anderson also spent time playing professionally overseas in Italy and France.
