Ronald Allan Kelley Poe, better known as Fernando Poe Jr. or simply by his initials FPJ and Da King, was a Filipino actor and filmmaker. In a career spanning nearly five decades, he has played lead roles in action films. He is also the founder of production company FPJ Productions.
His film Ang Probinsyano was adapted into a television series under the name FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. Topbilled by Coco Martin, it became the highest-rating primetime drama series, particulary for a TV Patrol lead-out series. Due to its success, another FPJ film, Batang Quiapo, has been adapted to its own drama series starring Martin and FPJ's daughter Lovi Poe.
